Within easy reach (1.5 & 2.5 km) there are the beaches of Dassia and Gouvia, both awarded with the Blue Flag for its excellent waters.
The beach of Dassia is sandy with shallow waters and is ideal for swimming and safe for children with its very calm waters and low sea level low . Although the beach is quite narrow it provides many facilities for sunbathing and has excellent facilities for water skiing and scuba diving. Dassia has many good taverns and restaurant which serve local and international cuisine, including a Chinese and a Indian restaurant. The resort also offers numerous shops of any kind on its main road, whether you are looking for the souvenirs or daily needed items, you will find it there.
Gouvia is situated in a natural bay, nine kilometers north of Corfu town on the east coast. The beach is pebbly and safe for children. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available (charge) as well as showers. At Gouvia beach has watersport activities offered as boat rental, paragliding and diving. Gouvia also has a large number of mini-markets, shops and restaurants and a selection of bars with lively night ambiance.
Not far from Gouvia village, there is the first privately owned marina, the Gouvia Marina where sailing yachts and motor boats from all over the world anchor. Gouvia Marina has several restaurants where a refreshing drink or delicious meal can be enjoyed while watching the magnificent view.
Corfu Town (Kerkyra) can easily reached by car or public bus. It is built between two Venetian castles and has a unique atmosphere. Corfu town is a thriving mass of shops and businesses, set amongst a charming assortment of Venetian buildings, churches and narrow alleyways leading to hidden beautiful squares.
